When hovering over top of a panel you get the "Drill Down" link, add a second option called enlarge which basically "floats" the panel and makes it full size browser window..
So you have "Drill Down | Enlarge"
Really sorry for spamming these ideas at you. Perhaps on the new board have an ideas section, which you can just pick-up as and when.
