I find the Geo Map colours quite hard to read - Could it be possible to customise them? Ideally I'd use some kind of heat map, with Light pale colours for the smallest values.
I agree - they arent the best ;) - Happy to change them to something else. Customisation might be possible in future.
The palette is held in: searchie.d3datamap.js (search with the expanded work/*war/... folders.

Either have a fiddle or send us a grab of an example you think works well; if not we will look at it and come up with a more pastel oriented heatmap.
We could change them as part of 3.03 which we expect to be released next week.
