AgentID

Hi,

I just started to use logscape, and I have added my first agent to the master server. But, I see as an AgentID there is a very unfriendly name , how can that be configured and changed?

The AgentId is a combination of the hostname and the port used to connect to the manager - it's not configurable as such, it's descriptive.

If you want to change it, you'll need to change your computers hostname. This link may help. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-computer-name#1TC=windows-7

However, if you're on a business network, you won't want to do that. What you can configure is the role. The Role allows you to segregate your data and identify the computers used.

Check out the documentation on Zoning. http://logscape.github.io/deploy-arch_zoning.html
