1. Suggestion for something that might be in a future version is a hierarchical view (where items are selectable) like this:

-Data Source1: Tag, Directory
   -File1
      -Data Type1: Dir/Tag, File, Pattern
Field Names: name, function, Visible, Summary
Synthetic Field: Name, Synth Source, Visible, Summary, Expression
   -File2
      -Data Type2: Dir/Tag, File, Pattern
         Field Names: ....
Synthetic Field: Name, Synth Source, Visible, Summary, Expression

And a flipped tree like this:

-File1
    -Data Source: ....
    -Data Type1: Dir/Tag, File, Pattern
Field Names: name, function, Visible, Summary
Synthetic Field: Name, Synth Source, Visible, Summary, Expression

-File2
    -Data Source: ...
      -Data Type2: Dir/Tag, File, Pattern
         Field Names: ....
Synthetic Field: Name, Synth Source, Visible, Summary, Expression

I would find this useful to make sure that I was being consistent with naming conventions and avoiding a sprawl of Data Types.

2.  Backup Selection

I think it would be easier if rather (or as an alternative option), you could provide a check-box selection list of items to be exported and allow the user to name the output file

3.  Make the Data Types page more like the Data Sources page, where you can see all the types on one screen and select the one to edit from there.  This may be a (temporary) alternative to the tree view in ny first suggestion.

Thanks for your feedback Thom, it is really appreciated.

We will have been having similar thoughts/feedback from others and will probably make 2.6 gears towards usability & feedback.

Cheers,
Na.
