I'm trying change the host where the manager runs (retiring the previous host). I used the configuration script on the forwarders to point to the new manager host (with the latest version installed) and importing a full export from the previous manager, but that doesn't seem to work. What is the correct procedure?
If the location of your manager has changed log onto the forwarder to update its configuration.
Run the $LOGSCAPE_HOME/scripts/configure.sh ( or .bat)
1. Select option 3.) for the Forwarder. If you have set up the Manager in a different zone from dev, enter the name of the Forwarder. e.g type lab.Forwarder, if the Manager is called lab.Management.
The zone used must match what it is for the Manager
2. Then type in the hostname of the manager
3. Press enter to test connectivity with the manager
4. Then [enter] again to accept the changes.
Navigate to the parent folder and start the forwarder by typing
1. Backup your current Logscape folder - you will need the *App*.zip files from this folder if you've deployed any apps.
2. Export the config - this will be your entire system's config including Workspaces, Searches, Data Sources and so on.
3. On the new host, install the Manager.
4. (OPTIONAL) Copy Apps - Copy *App* from the backed logscape folder
5. Start the Manager
6. On the Configure/Backup page click [OVERWRITE] and upload your exported config.
There's no need to bounce you system once you have done this. Any Apps installed in the system will need to be deployed from the Configure/Deploy page.
